The Align Approach
True healing and recovery for adolescent males doesn’t come from a quick fix or a one-size-fits-all program. It is the result of consistent structure, compassionate relationships, and evidence-based treatment tailored to each young man’s needs.
Our approach is built around one core belief: Every adolescent has the capacity to heal, lead, and reach their potential—given the right support. Through clinical excellence, family involvement, 12 Step recovery, academics, and experiential learning, Align Adolescent Recovery helps young men in 9th-12th grade reset the trajectory of their lives.

Whole-Person, Developmentally Appropriate Care
Adolescents require a specific clinical lens. Our dual-diagnosis residential treatment model treats the full spectrum of a young person’s development: emotional, cognitive, academic, spiritual, social, and physical.
We specialize in:
- Trauma and PTSD
- Depression, anxiety, and other mood disorders
- ADHD and executive functioning
- Substance use and early addiction
- Struggles with traditional academic integration
- Family conflict and behavioral issues
Core Components of the Align Approach
Evidence-Based Clinical Care
Our licensed clinicians use proven therapies such as DBT, EMDR, CBT, trauma-focused therapy, and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy. Every client receives individual, group, and family therapy, as well as psychiatric oversight and case management.
Family Systems Work
Healing doesn’t happen in a vacuum. We work closely with families through weekly family therapy, immersive family weekends, parent webinars, and multiple weekly support group offerings. Our Parent Liaison provides hands-on guidance and ongoing connection.
Integrated Academic Support
San Pedro Valley Academy, our fully accredited on-campus high school, allows students to continue their high school education while receiving clinical care. Our educational program is trauma-informed, project-based, and staffed with credentialed, compassionate educators.
12 Step Recovery
For students struggling with substance use, we offer structured 12 Step immersion and community-based meetings. We believe the 12 Steps offer a powerful foundation of accountability, humility, and service.
Customized Treatment Plans
We don’t force adolescents into a rigid curriculum. Our semester-based model provides a flexible length of stay based on clinical progress, typically starting at 5–7 months. Students transition through levels of care (RTC, PHP, IOP, OP) as they build insight and independence.
Guiding Principles of Align Recovery
Recovery is the foundation. It’s the first step toward becoming the healthiest, most fulfilled version of oneself.
Healing is holistic. It includes physical, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual growth.
Academic engagement builds resilience. School success helps restore self-worth and motivation.
Every student has potential. We help unlock it with patience, consistency, and belief.
Family is part of the solution. Repairing relationships is essential to sustainable change.
Service to others builds purpose. Students practice showing up for others—at home and in their communities.
Connection changes everything. At Align, no one does this alone.

Experiential Healing & Somatic Integration
We believe movement, nature, and hands-on experiences are key to emotional regulation and personal insight. That’s why we integrate:
- Equine-facilitated psychotherapy and horsemanship
- Cold plunge and sauna therapy
- Adventure therapy trips, hiking, camping, and international expeditions
- Sports, paintball, rock climbing, and fitness
These activities help young men learn to manage discomfort, build confidence, and stay engaged in their healing process.
