The Align Adolescent Recovery Treatment Philosophy
Here, healing happens through connection, consistency, and courage. We meet each young man where he is—with compassion, structure, and evidence-based care—and guide him toward meaningful and lasting growth.
Our program is relational at its core. From peer mentorship and therapist rapport to family systems work and daily routines, Align is designed to help adolescent males develop the emotional regulation, identity, and self-respect they need to thrive in the world.
We know by the time young men arrive at our program they are struggling with identity and self confidence, often carrying a heavy burden of shame. We believe that in order to re-establish self- confidence they must believe they have established competence and purpose. Competence is the ability to do something successfully and involves having the necessary knowledge, skills, and judgement to fulfill a role effectively. At Align, young men may find a competence in academics, horsemanship, in the gym, on the soccer field or basketball court, in the art studio or music recording studio, in the maintenance or culinary apprenticeship programs. Or by feeling like a competent son, brother, leader, and friend again. The only way to re-establish self- esteem is through doing esteem-able acts.
